This is truly a weird one for me because it doesn't even make any sense.

I lip read.

Okay, I'm not very good at it, but I do it anyway.

'Eyes are the windows to the soul'. Yep, that's why avoid looking in them.

But, why would I need to lip read? I'm not deaf but, if the lips are blocked by a hand, I find it very difficult to 'hear' what's being said. It works very well if the person I'm with talks very quietly, then I need that skill to keep up with the conversation. But, I do it even if I can hear what is being said.

In deep conversations, my eyes are generally looking at everything else rather than looking at the person who I'm talking to. If I really feel I should look at them for politeness, I do a quick glance to the eyes, and then I'm looking at the lips again.

This 'thing' is so odd to me that I really don't have much to say about it. I have no idea why I do it and if it actually serves any purpose.

Is this something you do? Or am I the only one? :)
